Can You Trust all the Talk Surrounding Apple iPhones?

After much hype, the results are in on Apple’s new iPhone, and many people are not satisfied customers. In a way it can be related to the Edsel, a car named after a draft-dodging Ford family member, and the ’New Coke’ that everyone was excited about until they found out it tasted just like Pepsi. Still despite the reviews, the Apple iPhone has generated an absurd amount of revenue for Apple. Apparently, people were curious about just how bad a cell phone can be.

Does It Blend Well With Others?

Shortly after the iPhone was released, a video was uploaded on the internet by a blender salesman, who put his iPhone in a blender and then turned it on to destroy his iPhone. The blender salesman obviously had a high disregard for Apple’s new iPhone and wanted to take the opportunity to not only show off the blenders capability, but show his critical review of the iPhone. The fact that the video went viral and became so popular, (more so than the Blendtec blender he was selling), means that many others seemed to agree with this particular review on Apples new iPhone.

If you want to read some of the reviews on Apple iPhones, you could go to the Cnet.com website for several ’geek reports’, just be prepared for the upper techno-jargon used because it can be tough to understand. It would be best to read Apple iPhone reviews by an average person or do some personal investigation on your own. To get the average person’s opinion on the Apple iPhone review all you need to do is type in ’Apple iPhone reviews’ in your favorite search engine and go from there.

Cara Volle wrote a review on Helium.com that you might want to check out. Her comments begin first by telling Steve Jobs in her own words how much she hates his iPhone. Most of these reviews are not precisely the best reviews available however, they can absolutely cause one to think about what possibilities could be added to a new device in the future.

Complaints about the iPhone from others have ranged from its choice of AT&T as network provider to the cost. Many have also complained about the camera function not being up to par, and the much anticipated video capability which still had some work to be done before it should have been released to the public. In addition there is a growing concern among consumers on how the iPhone gets too hot when using it for extended periods of time. Another alarming fact is that well known computer security specialist have now found ways to hack into the Apple iPhone, which means others could do the same.

Most of the time when a new technical device hits the market, there are sure to be some unforeseen problems arise simply because of the thousands of consumers who use it. With that in mind, it would be best to wait about a year for companies to improve on their products and address all the critic’s concerns before you buy one. Then you will have a much better device that is worth the money you spend.

A Quick Recap of Apple iPhones Origins

Apple has always been known for developing trendy and cutting edge electronic consumer products that attract a large number of followers. Prior to the release of the Apple iPhone in June 2007, people had begun to speculate on what the new device would be like and what new functions would be offered with it. The great thing about the Apple iPhone was so original and innovative, that people couldn’t wait to get one because it would be like having three devices all rolled -up in one: an iPod, cell phone and internet device.

The iPhone Beginning

The reported known beginning of the Apple iPhone came from a meeting headed by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, with his engineers, tasking them to research touch screen capability, at the time he was probably going to use it to advance the Apple PC tablet. It was during a conference in April 2003, Steve Jobs revealed that PDAs and tablet PCs would not be the path Apple would pursue for further extensive development.

The new direction was to move forward in evolving the technologies used in cell phones and the options provided with them. It was during the January MacWorld Expo of 2007 that the next product Apple was to release would be the Apple iPhone, available in June 2007. At another conference that same year, it was revealed that the Apple iPhone would sustain third parties which would create Web 2.0 applications and that users could access this through the internet.

Consumer Ready and Future Developments

It was in June 2007 that the Apple iPhone was made available to the public, people literally would line up outside of stores before they opened, in hopes of being one of the first to purchase one. Originally the Apple iPhone came in two versions, you could either get one with a flash drive with 4GB for $499 or 8GB for $599, however, the 8GB quickly began to sell in an unsurpassed amount, so much so they stopped making the 4GB version altogether.

Moreover, as a further development, the price was radically reduced by $200 in September, for which Apple was quite widely attacked because the sudden drop in price was believed to be unfair. The popularity of the Apple iPhone in the beginning was by no means as great as expected.

For instance, they expected the first weekend sales to range from anywhere between 200,000 - 700,000, in products sold. The number of actual registered activations only came to around 145,000 during the first weekend.

One downfall was that the applications offered on the Apple iPhone, could only be activated buy getting a two year subscription with AT&T, which was a restriction many people did not appreciate. AT&T had to make changes in billing statements for Apple iPhone users, after the media covered a story about a customer who received a 300 page bill from them.

The Apple iPhone was released internationally in France, the United Kingdom, Europe and Germany, towards the end of 2007. In Europe the Apple iPhone was only made available to the public through one preselected company and that seem to raise some legal concerns.
