In this video, I give my thoughts on Steve Jobs’ recent statements regarding flash support on the iPhone. I give reasons why I agree with this assessment and why it may not change in the near future.

Flash Lite 3.0 isn’t a crippled version of Flash. It Supports Flash Player 8 content. Flash Player 9 was only recently introduced so any good things about flash that you remember are from Flash 8 and lower. Flash Videos aren’t slow. Flash can be used to quickly develop applications that represent and provide data from the web such as videos, news, maps, entertainment all in a nice dynamic interface. You say you run away from flash but guess what YouTube uses.

OMG! Silverlight on an iPhone. I would only put that on it if it was more stable.
September 3rd, 2008 at 9:56 am
I haven’t looked at Silverlight much but it would be cool if it fit the gap. It would sure be ironic if Microsoft were licensing out Silverlight to Apple.

yea gator fan….where did u get that case?

I agree with you on the part that it will crash. Also, flash uses up a lot of CPU. The iPhone runs on a 667mhz. What happens when you’re using the CPU at its max? Why, you’re using a lot more power -> Less battery time. If Apple is going to introduce flash, it’ll most certainly be introduced in the iPhone 2.0. Togeather with MMS, Copy - paste, WiFi syncing. (That’s at least what I’m hoping will be introduced).

I am sure that Apple will work out the bugs with flash and get it working. And i think that Apple will be very careful about the developers because they don’t anything going on with the phone. They have been very protective over it so far. And i would like to wait for a good version of flash also, and yes i love how stable the phone is.

I want them to have flash it will be fine if its a bit slow.
